This bike has a lot of interesting specs to show customers. Obviously, it has the usual lights, indicator lamps, high beam, and turn signals, as well as a speedometer, odometer, and tachometer on a 2.14-inch LCD display, but the 2021 Harley-Davidson Softail Standard has more than standard bike features to offer.

The bike has chrome all over the body, complete with steel-laced wheels and brakes. It has a 6.2-inch wheelbase, with a combined city & highway fuel economy of 47 MPG and a 3.5-gallon fuel tank. It also has a seat height of 25.8 inches and ground clearance of 4.9 inches. Its dry weight is 630 pounds, but to put the Softail Standard in running order adds another 25 pounds.

The 2021 Harley-Davidson Softail Standard also features a Milwaukee-eight 107 engine, which has an even sound to it, as well as crisp throttle response. The engine itself is described as “a powerful, smooth-running V-Twin engine.” This 2021 model has a starting MSRP of $13,599, with ABS available for an additional $795. California residents beware: there is an additional $200 emissions charge.

Softail lines from previous models are retained, though the design this time around is more lightweight, and therefore more responsive. Wheels are spoked, fenders are chopped, and paint finishes are polished. The Softail line of Harley-Davidson bikes has been around since their launch in 2018, and they have been evolving ever since.

Kits & Accessories

Several packages of luxury add-ons are available for the 2021 Softail Standard. A high-flow exhaust system is also incorporated into the options mix.

It gives Softail models better performance and is optimized for use with the Screamin’ Eagle 131 Crate Engine, as well as with the Screamin’ Eagle Milwaukee-Eight 128/131 Stage IV Kits. Maximum horsepower and torque are brought to the forefront and exhaust system weight is decreased by 20 percent, which allows performance to increase.

The original exhaust system had none of these capabilities. The high-flow exhaust system comes in both Stainless and in Satin Black. Harley-Davidson engineers made this system specifically for part of a Screamin' Eagle package. As a result, it was given a fine-toothed comb, with minimal restriction, ideal backpressure, and proper tuning.

Screamin’ Eagle Softail Model Milwaukee-Eight Engine Stage III Kits are also available for use with the 2021 Harley-Davidson Softail Standard. These kits emphasize an increase in both torque and power by bumping up both compression and displacement.
